IND vs AUS 3rd ODI Performance Analysis

It was a very poor decision of Aaron Finch after winning the consecutive 3rd toss against team India’s captain Virat Kohli. Everybody knows about the chasing record of India at home. While he has not considered some other elements that it’s a typical Bengaluru pitch and its just an outstanding pitch to bat on specially in second innings. So, I would say it was a suicide attempt from Australian captain and he come to know after the game.

Well it was an extra ordinary start from Indian bowlers. They hit the right areas with good seam and swing initially and then followed by score board pressure also creates a situation of panic for Australian batting order. As Muhammad Shami got David Warner in his second over with a beauty and then early runout of Aaron Finch creates a lot of pressure for Smith and Labuschagne.

IND vs AUS 3rd ODI Performance Analysis

Both managed well till 31st over but as Virat Kohli took an outstanding catch of Labuschagne Australian dressing room got panic and they send out Mitchell Starc in the middle because they felt a slow run rate pressure, but he was taken by Ravindra Jadeja in the same over. After that Australian players tried a lot to increase the run rate, but wickets were keep falling against a tight bowling of Indian bowlers.

They really missed a Glenn Maxwel today because he is in such a good form and read the Indian conditions very well. Smith scored a good century, but it was not enough in the end. He scored 131 runs on 132 balls by hitting 14 fours and 1 six and got some good partnerships with Marnus Labuschagne and Alex Carey at the other end. So, after 50 overs Aussies scored 286 Runs by losing 9 wickets.

After not putting enough total they start bowling like playing cricket first time. Their top-ranking bowlers Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc was bowling like no where in the middle, a complete off color outside off stump giving too much room and ultimately Indian openers have not showed any mercy. Rohit Sharma showed his pure class by hitting fours and sixes all around the ground.

On the other hand, Josh Hazlewood who was playing first game of the series kept a good line and length and troubled both openers in his first spell and conceded just few runs in first 4 overs. But what a batting performance showed by 2 Indian Cricket Superstars Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli they have batted like Kings of Cricket. Rohit got out after scoring 119 runs which includes 8 fours and 6 sixes and Virat Kohli scored 89 runs by hitting 8 boundaries.

After setting a good platform for middle order as Rohit Sharma got out, we have seen some beautiful hitting of emerging Shreyas Iyer. What an outstanding talent he is? He was not out till the end and scored 44 runs on just 35 balls by hitting beautiful 6 fours and an incredible to watch 6 over the mid-wicket boundary to Mitchell Starc.

Well it was a very good series for cricket fans all around the world. India have checked their bench strength against a quality Australian team. They have got some injuries of Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant. I hope both will be fine and we would love to see them against an upcoming T20 series against New Zealand.

While Australia is going to tour South Africa next so I think Ashton Turner will be out of the squad while some guys will in like Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis and Dercy Short in action. Mistakes made by Team India in 1st ODI Against Aus at Mumbai

Well it was very disappointing performance for Indian cricket fans the first defeat of the series against Australia as nothing works for team India. As I had mentioned in my last blog that toss will play a crucial role in the first match at Mumbai. So, my prediction was absolutely on spot as the pitch behavior was quite different in second innings and ball was coming nicely on bat but that was not the only factor of this 10 wickets defeat.

Let’s see what mistakes team India have made to lose the first match. First one is a lot of analysts suggested that India must give a chance to only 2 openers in playing 11 and rest one of them whether its Rahul or Dhawan but Kohli was not satisfied from critics and he made Kohli 11 which eventually disturbed the team combination. As none of them played a long innings as expected and create pressure for Virat Kohli at no 4.

Mistakes made by Team India in 1st ODI Against Aus at Mumbai

Second thing was if you are going with 3 openers then you must identify the slot because you must give a chance to play maximum balls to your best player of the team which means Virat Kohli at no 3 and KL Rahul at no 4. But being a sportsman and team member captain Virat Kohli give his slot to KL Rahul that ultimately paid a huge price in terms of game loss.

We have seen a lot of examples like when Sir Viv Richards changed his number from 3 to 4 his performance ultimately starts decreasing due to score board and fall of wickets pressure. So, whatever the conditions you are facing means good performance of other players etc Virat Kohli must play at no 3 because other players can easily develop their innings around him and he himself loves to go deep and play long innings to get maximum runs in limited over cricket.

Third mistake was shortage of proper all-rounder, because by adding KL Rahul in playing 11 Virat Kohli eliminates the chance of 6th bowler or proper all rounder who can bat with confidence. As it was expected that middle order will get exposed against a quality side and that happened in 1st ODI nobody was able to score runs easily against a quality Australian bowling attack Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja were just clueless. So Kedar Jadhav or Manish Pandey could be a better choice in playing 11 but captain don’t have enough confidence on these players.

Fourth mistake you might not consider is Indian bowlers were completely off colored in Mumbai as Jasprit Bumrah was bowling whether too short or too full. Muhammad Shami was also struggling with line and length. Shardul Thakur looked impressive but few lose delivers in every over cost him in boundaries. So, there is might be 2 changes in playing 11 at Rajkot on 17th January 2020. KL Rahul would play again as a wicket keeper batsman as Rishabh Pant is not in a good form plus he is suffering from concussion as he was structed on helmet with a nasty bouncer by Pat Cummins. Muhammad Shami was little bid expensive so he might be replaced by a quick Navdeep Saini.

At the end I would say whatever the conditions were and playing 11 of team India but like me you might missed MS Dhoni at Mumbai. Because of his game awareness, calmness and on field strategy to get wickets of the opposition. Virat Kohli tried everything but he was just clueless. Well best of luck to all the cricket lovers and yes like you waiting for team India’s comeback in 2nd ODI.

AUS vs IND Team Analysis for a Mumbai Cracker

Finally, the wait is over now one of the most exciting and thrilling series of ODI cricket is starting now between the two best teams of international cricket right now Yes, its AUS vs IND. A very short series of 3 ODI’s would be more excited to watch if it could be a 5-match series. But as India do not want to give any chance to Australia to come back in series like last year as India lose the series by 3-2 after winning the first 2 games in March 2019.

Both teams look well balanced on paper and their current performances as well. But almost both are facing some sort of problems that who will be a part of playing 11. Team India have some opening issues as Shikhar Dhawan is ready for comeback after his injury while KL Rahul performed very well in his absence with Rohit Sharma.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli captain of Indian cricket team gives a shut-up call to all the analysts in a press conference before the game that all the players are in good form so he might include both Shikhar and Rahul in playing 11. But again, the question arises that whether Kohli will give his slot to Rahul to bat at no 3 and he will bat at no 4 which is quite impossible. Because Kohli is well set for no 3 and he proved himself so then KL Rahul could be play at no 4.

Well these are all the current debates which will be solved at toss. Another thing is once again it’s a test for Indian middle order like if top order have not performed well so how Indian middle order will performed against a quality bowling of Australia. They are quick with good seam and swing and tuff to handle for any side. If they got a little bit help from the pitch, they could be very dangerous for Indian middle order.

Moving towards the playing 11 and comparison Australian possible 11 would be David Warner and Aaron Finch to open the innings followed by Steven Smith and Marnus Labuschagne based on their current form and performances specially everyone around the world is desperately waiting to see Labuschagne in ODI cricket because he performed very well in test cricket during this summer at home. Then at no 5 I think Alex Carey wicket keeper batsman having a very good BBL season this summer followed by Ashton Turner for some long livers.

Now come towards Australian bowling attack well I think they will go with 3 seamers and 2 spinners. Ashton Agar left arm spinner having good batting average as well will be preferred at no 7 and follower by Pat Cummins at 8, 9th will be Mitchel Starc, 10th Kane Richardson and last but not the least Adam Zampa. So bowling attack looks so good, but the question is how they will perform in these Asian conditions yes, few bowlers have good IPL experience, but I must say it’s a game of nerves.

Now let’s talk about Indian playing 11 I think as usual Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan will open the innings for India and if KL Rahul play then definitely Rishabh Pant will not be a part of playing 11 because Rahul would be play as wicket keeper batsman. But for me that is not possible because of Pant X-factor so at no 3 Virat Kohli, no 4 Shreyas Iyer, No 5 Rishabh Pant, then at no 6 Kedar Jadhav because of his all rounder skills.

AUS vs IND Team Analysis for a Mumbai Cracker

Moving towards Indian bowling 2 spinners and 3 seam bowlers include Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur and Muhammad Shami will be part of playing 11 based on their current performances. Well my prediction for winning is whoever will bowl first or bat in second innings will be a winner of this 1st ODI. Because of due factor in Mumbai and ball comes to the bat beautifully under lights. Well at the end, I would say that being a Dhoni fan I will really miss him during the whole series.

Marcus Stoinis Showed no mercy to Sidney Sixers

Well a day before yesterday he just faced 3 deliveries and taken by Smith Patel in a game against Melbourne Renegades even though Glenn Maxwell played an outstanding innings and won the game by hitting huge 7 sixes. But the anger inside Marcus Stoinis about played a false short against a left arm spinner burst like a bomb today.

As Sidney Sixers won the toss and elected to field first on a flat wicket of Melbourne Cricket Ground MCG to challenge their bowling side and they were thinking about to restrict Melbourne Stars under 170 odd runs. As they have a good line of fast and spin bowling attack which include Jackson Bird, Tom Curran, Lloyd Pope, Steve O’keefe and Ben Dwarshuis.

Marcus Stoinis Showed no mercy to Sidney Sixers

But nothing works as they planned because Marcus Stoinis had some other plans, he smashed very hard to every bowler after a little bit slow start, he scored 147 runs on just 79 balls by hitting 13 fours and 8 sixes with a strike rate of 186.07. While Tom Curran conceded 58 runs and Ben Dwarshuis 61 runs in their quota of four overs. That shows a poor bowling performance by these two.

So, After the outstanding innings of Marcus Stoinis Melbourne Stars put a total of 219/1. While in second innings Sydney Sixers openers have not showed a good response in the first over Josh Philippe was taken by Daniel Worall and in the 4th over a Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf strikes again Daniel Hughes and showed his presence once again in BBL. Then in the middle order few cameo innings by Captain Moises Henriques and Ben Dwarshuis was not enough to get their team over the line Henriques scored 41 on just 25 balls by hitting 2 sixes and 4 fours while Ben Dwarshuis contributed 42 runs on just 17 balls by hitting 3 sixes and 3 fours and the innings wind up after 20 overs Sydney Sixers made 175/7 and lose by 44 runs.

It was 11th half century scored by Marcus Stoinis in BBL and Maiden century. He is showing some extra ordinary talent with consistency to prove himself for the upcoming ICC T20 WC. As he is a complete package all-rounder who can bowled 4 overs as well and a good athleticism in the field. Best of luck for him and a wonderful weekend treat for Melbourne Stars.
